All our mediators are volunteers and their hours of work are flexible. They need to travel within the Torridge and North Devon areas and expenses are paid. Our Co-ordinator arranges the allocation of cases. Volunteers should normally be available to respond to messages from the Co-ordinator within one working day. There are regular case-work meetings. Our volunteer mediators work in pairs, visiting clients in their homes in order to gain an understanding of the issues involved. They work with both parties in a dispute to promote effective communication - often at times of high conflict. They manage meetings at which both parties come together.
